Short overview
Chasing Light traverses a sequence of light-related atmospheres — abandoned places, lanterns, neon noir, headlights in the fog, the slow arrival of daybreak, the colour-break of a prism. Each movement sustains a single illumination long enough for the ensemble to inhabit it. Drama, where it happens, happens inside the light itself.
Scored for Pierrot ensemble and mixed chamber forces, the cycle accumulates across years and nocturnes into an environment rather than a concert. It is where the chamber writing began to think like a room — where ensemble texture turned into atmosphere, and atmosphere into the thing you're actually listening to.
