A photography-inspired cycle in four parts and sixteen movements. The score collection includes Abandoned Places, Daybreak, Snowdrift, Caustics, and other studies of light. Recordings appear on Pinch Records as Chasing Light (2023) and Chasing Light: Live (2024). Both the studio and live digital recordings contain all sixteen tracks.
The four score volumes contain movements I–IV, V–VIII, IX–XII, and XIII–XVI. Each volume lists flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion. The music has also been presented with lighting and movement.
Chasing Light is written for Pierrot ensemble and mixed chamber forces. Its movements have been presented in concert, with lighting and staging, and on recordings; the selection of movements varies by presentation.
Chasing Light was released by Pinch Records in 2023. The studio digital recording contains sixteen tracks. The vinyl LP contains six selections from the full cycle: Shadow Play, Bioluminescence, Neon Noir, Prism, Headlights in the Fog, and Among the Stars.
Chasing Light Live Recording was released in 2024 and contains sixteen tracks, performed by The Curiosity Cabinet.
