Enter the worlds

Direction Rooms made of sound, signal, and nocturnal light — environments composed to be moved through, adjusted, and stayed inside.

Five works hold this chapter. A communications room at the edge of the audible. A phone that catches the listener listening. A nocturne for the hours after the gallery closes. A cycle of illuminated atmospheres. A live performance series distributed through public libraries. Different formats, one architectural instinct: the room is the piece.

Dial Zero

"Voice, transmission, and field signal as an inhabitable room — a telephonic architecture tuned to the edge of the audible."

The visitor moves through it, adjusts it, overhears it. Signal, silence, instruction, interruption, mis-listening — arranged as weather, not as narrative. Communication itself is the building material.

On the method.

Room, duration, atmosphere

The room as instrument

These pieces privilege rooms over stages, durational attention over synopsis, environment over frontal spectatorship. Sound, light, signal, and movement are arranged as weather — an inhabitable condition the visitor enters, drifts through, and leaves altered. The architecture is the score.

Tragedy and ecstasy

The work traverses the affective terrain between tragedy and ecstasy, fragility and strength — romantic intimacy and the spectacular darkness of the macabre, arranged at the scale of a room. Haunted by ghosts and/of love; coloristically attuned to the mysteries of irrationality, nightmare, and memory.
