A full-length opera. World premiere at Irondale, Brooklyn, June 2025.

Overview

Full-length opera

Short overview

A full-length opera in the gothic register — long-form, fully staged, written to sit inside a proper house rather than a studio. The writing traverses the terrain between tragedy and ecstasy, with the spectacular darkness of the macabre that runs through Whitney George's operatic work.

Premiered at Irondale in Brooklyn in June 2025, the opera was carried through writing and rehearsal on the 2024 Discovery Grant.
